appreciation of Congress woman Barbara Lee's courageous vote. Other
speakers include Alice Walker, Danny Glover, Maxine Hong Kingston and
KPFA's Davey D. The event is taking place in downtown Oakland in front
of the City Hall.

This Sunday, at 2 o'clock, KPFA will broadcast a community gathering in
Oakland to honor Congresswoman Barbara Lee for her courageous vote
against giving George W. Bush a free hand to take military action
without consulting Congress.

The event will also encourage respect for people of Middle Eastern
origin and believers in Islam, demand respect for the lives of innocent
people worldwide and emphasize the values of peace, justice and
democracy.

Featured speakers will include:  Alice Walker, Danny Glover, Maxine Hong
Kingston, and KPFA's own Davey D., as well as a range of community
spiritual leaders.  There will also be live music.

KPFA's broadcast, live from outside City Hall in downtown Oakland, will
be hosted by Walter Turner and Amelia Gonzales.

So please join us on Sunday from 2 to 5 here on KPFA-FM 94.1 FM.
