KFCF to Broadcast "Powershift" public power special.

KPFA-FM in Berkeley and KVMR-FM in Nevada City are working with the =
citizens' rights group Global Exchange to produce a live broadcast of a =
rally for clean, affordable public power from the steps of the state =
capitol in=20
Sacramento. The broadcast will be hosted by KPFA's Larry Bensky and =
will receive financial support from KVMR's national production fund, =
which is supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

I'd like to invite you to advertise an exciting Sept. 9 festival and =
rally that San Francisco's KPFA and Fresno's KFCF 88.1 FM will be =
broadcasting live from Sacramento. The event will address the energy =
crisis, issuing a call for clean, affordable, public power.
The rally--believe it or not--is the first statewide mass mobilization =
around the California crisis. It will bring together over 1000 people =
and a broad coalition of constituencies and groups (community =
organizations, environmental advocates, labor unions) from all over the =
state. The afternoon will feature a diverse line-up of prominent =
speakers and performers, as well as interviews by KPFA and its anchors. =
The program will be distributed to public radio stations across the =
country via KFCF's satellite link that feeds KPFA programming to KFCF in =
Fresno.

I have attached, and included below, our tentative program for the =
afternoon. For further information
about the event, see www.cleanenergy.org/powershift or call 800-497-1994 =
ext. 251.
