Hearing on Executive Power and Its Constitutional Limitations
6:00 am Hearing on Executive Power and Its Constitutional Limitations

For the last several years, many progressives - including a handful of
Congress members - have called for the impeachment of President George
W. Bush. But they have been stymied by six years of Republican
majority followed by a Democratic leadership that took impeachment
"off the table."

That may be changing. This Friday, the House Judiciary Committee will
take the first step to investigate what Rep. John Conyers calls
"numerous credible allegations of serious misconduct." Pacifica Radio
will broadcast the hearing live, starting at 6:00am PDT,
Tuesday, July 15, anchored by KPFA's Larry Bensky & Aimee Allison and
produced by Max Pringle.

While the panel of witnesses is somewhat fluid until the hearing
actually begins, the current roster of speakers includes:
-- Several Congress members: Dennis Kucinich, Jane Harman, Walter
Jones, Brad Miller, and Maurice Hinchey
-- Several non-Congress Members: Elizabeth Holtzman, Bruce Fein,
Frederick Schwartz, John Dean, Bob Barr, Rocky Anderson, Vincent
Bugliosi, Elliott Adams

2:30 PM - IDEAS ON THE EDGE
Mike Beevers hosts. Jill Bolte Taylor was a 37-year-old Harvard-trained and
published brain scientist when a blood vessel exploded in her brain. Through the
eyes of a curious neuroanatomist, she watched her mind completely deteriorate
whereby she could not walk, talk, read, write, or recall any of her life. Because of
her understanding of how the brain works, her respect for the cells composing her
human form, and an amazing mother, Jill completely recovered her mind, brain and
body. In My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist's Personal Journey, Jill shares
her recommendations for recovery and the insight she gained into the unique
functions of the right and left halves of her brain. Having lost the categorizing,
organizing, describing, judging and critically analyzing skills of her left brain,
along with its language centers and thus ego center, Jill's consciousness shifted
away from normal reality. In the absence of her left brain's neural circuitry, her
consciousness shifted into present moment thinking whereby she experienced herself
"at one with the universe."

the agreement between the homeless and the City of Fresno and Caltrans to settle the
class action lawsuit that stopped the city from taking and destroying homeless
people's property. The City of Fresno and Caltrans agreed to settle the lawsuit for
$2.3 million. This will be our first segment

JOIN US IN THE FIGHT TO SAVE OUR SCHOOLS, HEALTH CARE AND PUBLIC SAFETY FOR
CALIFORNIA'S FAMILIES! Call to Action - Door Hangers canvass against the budget cuts
for Fresno - Fresno needs you!
The proposed budget would cut billions from the vital services that California's
families rely on every day - slashing funding for public schools, public safety,
health care services and in-home care for elderly.
If enacted, these cuts would jeopardize the safety and security of California's
children, families, seniors, and the disabled. The cuts will impact most
Californians in multiple ways, often compounding our problems in tough economic
times.
We can do better. Tell our lawmakers to reject a "cuts-only" budget and find
common-sense solutions to fixing California's budget deficit.
