>From the Democracy Now! daily e-letter:

New Book by Amy and David Goodman an instant national bestseller!

Help push the book, Static, into the printed New York Times bestseller
list.
It's at #18 this week! If it hits #15, it will appear in the Times!

It has also hit the LA Times list, the Northern California Independent
Booksellers list, and others. It has also been the #1 book on the mass
media on amazon for weeks.

Just days after the publication of Static: Government Liars, Media
Cheerleaders and the People Who Fight Back, By Amy Goodman and her
brother, journalist David Goodman, the book reached #18 on the New
York
Times bestseller list. This is referred to as the "Extended List" - it
is available online, but not in the printed Sunday paper's Book
Review.
Books need to hit #15 in order to be printed.

If you were considering buying a copy or two (or 3!?) of Static,
please
do so this week! Consider this a great way to get a jump on holiday
shopping, or a great birthday gift, for a family member, friend, or a
library.

Why is it important to be on the list? The life of a book and its
distribution far afield, to get it into the hands of people who may
not
know that there are alternatives, depends on getting onto the shelves
of bookstores and libraries. Some stores give favorable placement to
books on the list. Other smaller stores will only stock the NYT
bestsellers.

Also, check out the latest Op-Ed piece by Amy and David, published
this
week online by Mother Jones Magazine:
