Dear Friends,
I am saddened by the tragedy that has befallen those in New York and =
Washington, and feel despair from the drumbeat of war that is coming at =
us from the media and the government. It was good to see so many people =
turn out this morning for the Unity March from Wesley Methodist to the =
Mosque.
KFCF is now running special programming from KPFA and our schedule is =
subject to change. You may have noticed that KFCF is now running =
Democracy Now! (In Exile) at 6 AM in addition to the regular time of 9 =
AM. KFCF is doing this to make the show available to Pacifica affiliates =
on the East Coast, since Pacifica refuses to distribute Democracy Now! =
We are allowing stations to tune over to the satellite link that feeds =
KPFA to KFCF to hear the work that Amy Goodman and her dedicated staff =
are doing from within the cordoned off area of Manhattan. KPFA and KFCF =
are also allowing stations around the country to use other related =
programming such as Flashpoints and Free Speech Radio News from our =
satellite channel.
KPFA has begun running a community calendar of vigils/peace events/ =
meetings, etc. We are looking at putting together a local version for =
KFCF that will air in place of the one from KPFA. If you know of any =
events, send them to kfcf@kfcf.org .
